About Our Disability Ministry

We’re passionate about creating a church environment where individuals with disabilities and their families are known, loved, and included - growing in faith, community, and the confidence that they matter deeply to God and to His church.

Take A Break

One Saturday each month | 5:00–8:00pm
Middleburg Heights Campus – Activity Center

For children, teens, and adults ages 6 and up with disabilities

Take a Break is a free monthly respite event for families of children, teens, and adults with disabilities. While participants enjoy a fun, safe evening with trained volunteers, parents and caregivers are given a few hours to rest, recharge, or enjoy time together.

We recognize how challenging it can be for families to find trusted care - even for one evening. Take a Break exists to support families through love and service, providing a space where individuals with disabilities are cared for and valued, and families are encouraged and supported.

A preliminary visit and advance registration are required to help ensure the best experience for everyone.

Friendship Class

Friendship Class

Sundays at 10:30am  | Middleburg Heights Campus

The Friendship Class is a Sunday class for individuals with disabilities designed to foster community, spiritual growth, and meaningful connection within the life of the church.

We understand that many families with a loved one who has special needs struggle to find a church where they feel understood and welcomed. Friendship Class provides a supportive environment where individuals can build friendships, learn about God’s Word, and experience the joy of belonging—while families know their loved one is cared for and included.

This allows parents and caregivers to attend worship with peace of mind, knowing their child or adult family member is growing in faith and community alongside trusted volunteers.

Serve With Us!

Serving with Grace’s Disability Ministry is a meaningful way to love and support individuals with disabilities and their families. Volunteers play a vital role in creating safe, welcoming environments where relationships can grow and everyone can participate in the life of the church. Whether you’re helping during Sunday classes, supporting monthly Take a Break events, or building one-on-one friendships, you’ll be part of a team that serves with care, patience, and compassion. No prior experience is required—just a willing heart and a desire to serve others. Training and support are provided, and we’ll work with you to find a role that fits your availability and gifts.
