Pastor Jonathan Schaeffer, along with Mary, lead the global C&MA family in advancing the mission of Jesus. They support churches, international workers, and Christian leaders worldwide, helping to spread hope, encourage partnerships, and multiply disciples across nations. We’re incredibly proud to have sent them from Grace Church into this influential global role
1. Applicants must interview with the Global Outreach Director and team leader, must be 12 years or older, complete a background check, attend six pre-trip meetings, post-trip recap and debrief meetings and pay and/or fundraise for the entire trip cost. Participants are welcome to complete the Global Outreach Class but not required to attend.
2. Team leaders must attend a Global Outreach Class before completing an application to lead a team.
Meet with the Global Outreach Director to share about your trip and get plugged into local or global opportunities.
The trip cost includes all airfare, lodging, food in-country, transportation in-country, emergency international travel insurance, and any other incidentals purchased by the ministry partner for the team (i.e., water, bug spray, etc.). The trip cost does not include any required or recommended immunizations or medications for travel, passport application/renewal fees, souvenirs, food in the airport, or transportation to the departure airport.
There will be six mandatory pre-trip meetings. The pre-trip meetings will be led by the team leader and will cover a variety of topics; pre-trip logistics, host partner preparation, cultural intelligence, and Helping Without Hurting training.
Yes, you can apply for a Global Outreach Trip team if you do not attend Grace. However, the team leader will prioritize the spots for people who attend Grace.
Upon acceptance to a team, all team members are required to pay a $100 deposit. Team members may fundraise for the remaining portion of the trip cost after (1) they have paid the $100 deposit, (2) they have received the fundraising guidelines at the first pre-trip team meeting & submitted their list of Grace attendees they’d like to reach out to, (3) their support letter has been provided by the Global Outreach Director.
The deadline for spring teams is October 1st, summer teams is January 1st, and fall teams is April 1.
