Dear Grace Family,
I trust you’re living in the power of Pentecost this week. What we talked about on Sunday was not just for that Upper Room and it was not just for a Sunday service. The arrival of the Holy Spirit changed everything. Ordinary people, many of whom didn’t look very qualified on paper, were now empowered for the advance of the Kingdom of God in unique ways. Their experience turned to mission and God established His church!
We’re still living in that promise and provision today. Sometimes we feel encouraged on Sunday but by the time we hit Friday, we’re wondering where the reminders went or why our passion has dropped. Just a reminder: the same Holy Spirit that is present in the middle of those wonderful worship songs is with you where you are right now–reading on your phone, alone at your computer, in the middle of a work meeting. He’s available, just turn to him and invite Him to fill you again.
This Sunday we’re launching a new 7-week series called I AM, where we’ll walk through the 7 “I Am” statements in the book of John. Jesus calls himself the Bread of Life, the Door, the Light and more. I can’t wait to jump into a focus on Jesus and what it means for us as we live every day finding Him to be enough for us and the only way we can find help, freedom, and life.
As we continue to follow Jesus together, we are always pressing in to help one another grow, celebrate the victories, and grieve the losses. A number of folks in our Grace family have lost a loved one recently. Please take a look and spend a moment praying for these folks as they mourn.
We share in sufferings together, but we also celebrate God’s goodness in our lives. We have an upcoming Baptism service on June 7th. If you’re interested in making this public step, we would love to affirm you in this and walk with you as you take this next step in following Jesus. Find out morehere.
And finally, our journeys through faith require growth. One key way we grow is through the stretching and renewing of our minds (Romans 12:1-2). We have new classes kicking off in early June. You have the chance to learn more about the Bible, a specific book, issues of the soul, learn about becoming more invested at the church through Grace 101 and more. Check out the class list here and start making plans!
Eager to worship with you on Sunday as we dive into our new series in the book of John. And, so honored to be on this journey with you!
Pastor Tim
