Dear Grace Family,

I hope you’ve gotten moments of rest this week. Rest in a God who already loves you to the maximum, rest in knowing He’s in control (no matter what’s happening in your life), and rest from work, even if it was brief. If you don’t know why I started my email like this, check out last week’s message ;)

We’ll be continuing our series called How To Be Human this week and we’ll be diving into a study of work and meaning in our lives. Our rest is not intended to lead to us simply sitting on a beach all day, although that does sound nice, but to “produce much fruit” (John 15:5).

In addition to opening God’s word to continue this series together, we’ll be celebrating Youth Sunday. We’ll have young people leading worship, doing announcements, and serving in many capacities throughout the church. I am so grateful that God is raising up fully devoted followers of Jesus no matter their age here at Grace.

I get so grateful as I think about the young children coming to faith in a classroom, being taught the way of Jesus and the Scripture. And this continues through a vibrant Middle School ministry with amazing (and oftentimes, very patient) leaders and volunteers and into High School where I have witnessed students prostrate on the floor, pouring out their hearts towards God desiring to serve Him and know Him. So, don’t miss the encouragement and energy of our young people helping to lead the way on Sunday.

For those of you with younger children, we’re looking forward to Child Dedications on Mother’s Day. It’s a chance for families to commit their child to the Lord and invite our church family to walk alongside them. If that’s something you’ve been thinking about, sign up here.

And, because the beauty of Grace Church is multi-generational, many of you have met Bill Steele, who is newly on staff, and is already leading our Forever Young ministry (55+) with excellence. Isn’t it great to be in a community where a 5 year old and an 85 year old can know the same savior and both be celebrated? That’s the kind of place I long for us to continue to be.

Resting with you in God’s unconditional love,

Pastor Tim
