Update from PJ and Mary: June 13, 2020

Hi friend–

I’d like to start with a word of encouragement from a song in our service this past weekend:  “Even when I don’t see it, You’re working.  You never stop working.”  So true!  Our Father is always at work, even when we don’t see him…even when we wonder if he’s gotten busy elsewhere.  He’s at work in your life today, and “we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Here’s an update from Mary & me for the week.  We’re grateful to connect with you like this, and look forward to when it’s face-to-face!

We’re having onsite baptisms on June 27!  Chlorine is effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19, so we’re glad to offer this option for those who have put their trust in Jesus and want to take this important step in publicly declaring their faith. You can get more information or sign up at gracecma.org/baptism. When you sign up, we’ll send you more information about next steps.  All of the baptisms will be livestreamed so we can celebrate with each one who honors Jesus in this way!

We’re so grateful for those who have touched our lives by their example of loving others and faithfully following Jesus.  One of those who has done that so well is Linda Sue Hull.  Her husband, Don, and family lovingly cared for her until the day she graduated to heaven this past Wednesday.  Her memorial service is at Grace (Middleburg) today at 2pm and will be live-streamed at live.gracecma.org.

Grateful for the promises of Jesus,
Pastor Jonathan Schaeffer
Senior Pastor, Grace Church
