Note from PJ – September 18

Many of our team were at the annual District Conference this week.

It’s a mandatory 2-day gathering for all licensed Alliance workers in our region–about 85 churches!
The Conference is a time of renewal, strategizing, reporting, and more. On Monday, we focused on this promise from Jesus:

“If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth…I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.  – John 14:15-18

This is true for you today if you love and follow Jesus!
His Spirit is with you right now…teaching, guiding, empowering. The goal is that the work of Jesus continues through you–which means we’re part of the great Story being written in the world today! Our lives count!

And, we get to do that together as the Grace family.

Here are a few ways to connect and serve:

Alpha at Lorain Campus is launching October 5th!
If you’re interested in creating a space where men can ask life’s big questions and learn about the Christian faith in a safe, informal, and friendly environment – click here to complete the Alpha Leader Application. Apply by Sept. 22!

Two weeks ago, a family in our church experienced a major crisis. Their four children were in a car accident that left them hospitalized with numerous surgeries. The parents, Martial and Kimberlee, have had to take leave from work to care for their children, and they are facing significant financial needs. This Sunday, Sept. 18, is Back to Church Sunday

It’s part of a national movement of churches across America. There are many people who grew up in a church, and they’re not sure what they’re getting into by coming to Grace. You can help ease some fear factors by extending a personal invitation to church, and being available for people who look like they’re new here. Express your availability to someone this week!

New Adult Classes began last week, a great opportunity to get to know others at Grace and learn more about a topic or a book of the Bible. You can see the full list of classes here. There are also gatherings for kids, middle school. high school, and young adults on Wednesday evenings.

I’m grateful the Lord has made us part of his family together! I look forward to seeing you!

Grateful for the always-present Spirit of Jesus,
