Note from PJ – October 8

One friend recently told Mary and me about their disappointment.

They didn’t get the sought-after job after a third interview. Another friend just received tough news from a medical test. And another friend is going through an unforeseen and expensive home repair.

How do we respond to the disappointments and challenges of life? What perspective can followers of Jesus have that helps them not only survive, but thrive?

That’s the theme of our new Sunday series SENT: Tracing God’s hand in the roadmap of your life. This would be a great time to invite a colleague or friend to come with you or join in online; I think the topic will help all of us see the way faith can transform our outlook.

This Week at Grace: Ladies Latte is this Monday, Oct. 10th at 7pm; Mary will be giving a message.

Grace YA Dodgeball Night: Tonight (SUN) 7-9:30 @MH
If I were in my 20s, I would be attending Grace Young Adults’ Dodgeball Tournament. If you’re 18-30 and want a chance to hang out with others your age, come join the fun. You can form a team in advance, or just show up and teams will be created.

It’s been sobering to see the ongoing devastation of war in Ukraine, and the needs of displaced people. The Grace family is partnering with Rise in Love to bring much-needed relief to our new neighbors who are finding a home in the Cleveland area. Items being collected include gently used and clean clothing (adult & children); home goods, linens, small household appliances, children’s books, toys, and games (please no furniture, chairs, computer desks, electronics or child car seats). Donations can be left at the Middleburg campus (North entrance) daily from 9 am – 5 pm this month, or at the Olmsted Falls campus Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9 am – 3 pm, through October 29th.

If you’d like to help in addition to donations, we need volunteers to sort items on Oct. 30, 31, and Nov. 1. Distribution takes place on Nov. 2 from 4-9 pm. You can volunteer to greet families, sort and organize items with us; contact Kajavius Wilson for more info or to volunteer.

Thanks for seeking to make an impact
with your life!
