Note from PJ – October 2

When you’re family, you celebrate victories and grieve losses together.

That’s the heart of Jesus: “Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.” (Romans 12:15).

We grieve today with people who have experienced devastation from a destructive hurricane. The images have been staggering. We also feel the weight of great unrest in Burkina Faso, where we have many Christian brothers and sisters; there is word that a coup is taking place, though details are scarce. Thanks for praying for people in these circumstances and other difficult ones who are experiencing so much loss and uncertainty today.

We also share the joy of those in our family:

Bethany Bell (who serves on our staff team) and Tim Hutchison will be married at Grace Church (Middleburg Heights Worship Center) on Saturday, October 29th, 2022, at 1 PM. The entire Grace family is invited to the ceremony; no RSVP is needed. Simply come and celebrate their sweet union before the Lord! (Note: while they wish they could invite everyone to the reception, that portion of the celebration is by private invitation only).

The first LIVE album from Grace CMA Worship was released on all platforms today! This was a huge collaboration consisting of many volunteers and staff; maybe you were able to attend the special night in June at the Olmsted Falls campus. Enjoy these new worship offerings and share them on your social media accounts.

We have several opportunities to learn together this October, including the Live2Lead leadership event Friday, October 7th. This will be a day filled with personal growth, leadership insights, and the opportunity to network with other leaders in your community. The following week, we’ll host the Reclaim Conference on October 14th-15th. This event is an opportunity for those who are engaged, newlyweds, in the midst of busyness with kids, or empty nesters, to invest in their marriage. I’ll be at both of these events, and would love to see you there!

This Sunday, we’re tackling part two of the message, “Deconstruction: When Faith Wavers.” We’ll see how the Bible anticipated this subject and look at the big question we all need to answer.

I’m glad to be part of the same family with you! Mary and I send love from our home to yours,

– Pastor Jonathan Schaeffer
