Note from PJ – November 20
I was moved by a little line I read in Hebrews 11 this week. The author says that the Heavenly Father is pleased with our faith, and how “he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (11:6). Then, a list of individuals who endured challenging times with faithfulness is highlighted, giving us concrete examples to follow.
Here’s the line that struck me about one person’s faith: “He persevered because he saw him who is invisible” (Hebrews 11:27). This person kept going, held on, stayed true to the Lord, because they saw what other people didn’t see. By faith, they were convinced they weren’t alone. The Lord–in all of his strength and love and mercy–was with them. And, he’s with us!
I invite you to pray with me,
“Lord, help me–in faith–to see the invisible, to trust that you are with me, and if I’m your follower, your Spirit is in me…right now. Because of you, I am never alone. Open my spiritual eyes wider, and help me to see the bigger picture that is missed when faith isn’t activated. Thank you for the promise of your constant presence with me, even today!”
My message tomorrow, “Your Lifeline in the Battle,” relates to this truth, and how we can overcome the habits that drag us down. Hope you can join us!
Hope you have a great weekend, believing in faith that the One who is invisible is really with you!
