Note from PJ – January 1
Someone at Grace stopped me in my tracks several weeks ago, looked me directly in the eyes and said, “I have something I need to tell you.”
From the way they spoke, I thought I might be in trouble! But they went on: “The best thing you did for me this entire year is encourage me to read through the Bible. I’ve grown so much! I’m just sorry I waited this long!” I was both relieved and encouraged!
So many others have made similar comments. If you don’t have a Bible Reading plan for this coming year, will you join us? This Saturday, January 1, we’ll be starting the BibleProject | One Story that Leads to Jesus on the Bible App.
YouVersion, the makers of the Bible App, have also created an app for Kids to engage with scripture. You can get that here. As we prepare to launch into a new year, what would it look like for all of us to make room for intentional time with God?
In reflecting on 2021, I wanted to highlight just 3 of the many cool things that happened at our church this year. These are directly related to the investment which our people have made in the mission; so when you read this, personalize it: you’ve got a big part in this!
1. Grace Youth ministry continues to see so many students desiring to grow and encounter Jesus. The Alliance LIFE conference coming up in Summer 2022 has more of our students sign up than ever before (100+).
2. So many people decided to put their trust in Christ for the first time! This year, 125 people went public with their faith by getting baptized.
3. In a time when so many individuals are feeling the weight of continual upheaval in our nation, Grace served as a place of healing and growth and overcoming. At Making Peace Retreats this year, 100+ individuals confronted their past in order to heal in the present, and look hopefully toward the future. Additionally, our team of affiliated counselors saw over 4,000 appointments this year.
Your giving to our ministry this year has made all the difference! I’m glad to be on the same team with you, especially when we get to see and celebrate what the Lord is doing in Northeast Ohio and beyond.
Thank you for being a part of what God is doing through Grace Church.
