Ministry Residency

ministry leadership training
The Greater Cleveland Residency and Internship programs (gCLE) will give future vocational ministry persons an opportunity to view the wide spectrum of ministries so they can experience where God will use them and the way God designed them with their specific gifts/talents. While doing this, they will also identify Godly leadership traits and strengthen these gifts and hard wirings in order to advance the Gospel most effectively. gCLE residents/interns will experience vocational ministry alongside experienced leaders in and around Cleveland.

Our goal for the gCLE residency is to create intentional environments

Each Resident is placed within a specific ministry focus, but will also receive a broad exposure to ministry in many ways.

Hands-on Experience

Residents will have the opportunity to gain hands-on ministry experience in areas such as:

  • Children’s Ministry
  • Middle School
  • High School
  • Young Adults
  • Marriage & Family
  • Missions
  • Urban Outreach
  • Worship/Technology
  • Communications/Graphics
  • Small Groups
  • Men’s Ministry
  • Women’s Ministry

“The Residency has so boldly launched the work God has done and continues to do in me, inspiring a heart for ministry and journeying to discover His plan.”

-Rachel (2018 Resident)

Ministry Exposure

Residents will be exposed to and grow in ministry tasks including Congregational Care, Discipleship, Evangelism, Event Coordination, Refugee Ministry, Teaching, Bible Study, etc.

The Resident Experience

A typical week a Grace ministry resident:
• Exposure and practical experience within your ministry focus
• Projects that help you engage with a variety of ministries
• Bible Study and Leadership Development
• Group and one-on-one meetings with coaches and residency directors

Ministry coaches walk alongside residents to help them process their experiences, guide them discerning their calling, and encourage them in their personal growth, and their journey with the Lord. Residents will also spend time together as a cohort, meeting regularly to discuss scripture readings, work through leadership curriculum, debrief ministry experiences, and pray together.

“The Residency has been the next step in my journey to be more like Jesus Christ, allowing me to succeed and fail in an encouraging environment.”

-Brian (2018 Resident)
