Hi friend–

Happy 4th of July! Hope you enjoy this beautiful day as we give thanks for our nation and the freedoms we enjoy. Even as we give thanks for our heavenly passport and citizenship made possible by the death and resurrection of a Savior who dearly loves us, we also give thanks for the nation where he has made it possible for us to live. I’m praying the Lord will use all of us, even today, to serve him super effectively as his ambassadors. If you missed either of the messages the last two weeks, you can watch those here (“Connecting in an Election Year“) and here: (“You Represent Jesus“).

We mentioned a free resource on Sunday that has already been a big help to many in this contentious season: The After Party course. This free video course doesn’t say what you should believe politically but can help you navigate how you engage in politics in a way that honors Jesus.

This Sunday we start a new series called “People of Influence: Lessons from the Life of Nehemiah.” For a long time I’ve wanted to do a series that highlights life lessons from this fascinating character in history. There’s much for us to glean, and my prayer is that we’ll all dial up our influence as a result.

We’re thankful for each person who is faithfully contributing. So many children, youth, and adults are experiencing the power of the gospel as a result!  For anyone who wants to get started, simply click here to set up a giving schedule.

The Lord has been faithful to our church family in many ways.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend! I’m praying that in the interactions we have, we will “make the most of every opportunity.  Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.” Colossians 4:5-6

Love from Mary and me,

Jonathan
