July 18-19, 2020 Update from PJ + Mary
I was struck by the title of an article in the Washington Post a number of weeks ago, after the pandemic began. It said, “Even those of us who don’t believe need what religion can provide right now.” The author reasoned that, in this crisis, “we need ways to express gratitude, to face death, to comfort ourselves.”
That’s in line with what Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 7:2, when he states “death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart.” So true, isn’t it?
My message this weekend from the Book of Revelation is titled, “Everybody lives forever somewhere.” We’ll be reminded of the bigger picture the Bible gives us, and how our eternity is at stake. This would be a great week to share a link to our service with a friend…are there 3 people you can think of inviting? They can join us for any of our 5 worship services at facebook.com/gracecmachurch or http://live.gracecma.org/.
Mary and I talk about how the Grace family continues on mission despite–or even through–this current national crisis. You can join our weekly chat here. We also give a brief update on the work of the Elder team regarding onsite ministry.
We mention The Alliance website, as well as the opportunity for a free subscription to Alliance Life. And you can watch a short, inspiring 2-minute video message on how The Alliance is reaching out globally during this pandemic. If you’d like to make a gift to Global Outreach that supports Alliance ministries, you can do so here.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
