July 11-12, 2020 Update from PJ + Mary

A mentor in my life once said, “A heavy heart is lifted on wings of praise.” Have you found that to be true for you?  The video from Mary and me today is half-message, half-praise.  The song we include has played dozens and dozens of times in our home the last several weeks. We hope it will bless you like it has us; we’re singing it over you this weekend!  You can see it here.

Are you looking to serve in some way?  I’m so encouraged by the huge impact our Grace family is having, whether in their neighborhood, with others in the church, or in the broader community!  Here are two opportunities where you can serve alongside others from Grace:
• Common Threads:  volunteers (high schoolers to older adults) are needed next week to help this non-profit thrift store…part of Building Hope in the City. You can get more info by clicking HERE. They are maintaining all safety protocols and are looking for individuals to help for 1-2 hour shifts to make sure the store stays at or below our capacity limits. Common Threads is located at 22049 Lorain Road in Fairview Park.
• Laura’s Home:  a team from Grace has been serving breakfast to the residents once a month on Saturday. Several more volunteers are needed; you can sign up HERE. Laura’s Home is located at 18120 Puritas Ave in Cleveland.
My message this weekend from the Book of Revelation highlights the confidence we can have when our enemy attacks…and how we can win the battle. We’ll also have communion in each of our services. You can invite others to join you for one of our 5 worship services at facebook.com/gracecmachurch or http://live.gracecma.org/.

The Elders continue to discuss what needs to happen for additional ministries to begin meeting on our campuses, including worship services. This virus crisis has been challenging for churches around the world; we want to proceed in a way that shows wisdom and love. Just a reminder that small groups are able to meet onsite, as well as other recovery and support groups; feel free to be in touch if you’d like to reserve a room. Thanks for praying, loving, and serving!

Love from all of us,

Pastor Jonathan Schaeffer
