August 14, 2021 Note from PJ
We have the promises of God as our bedrock foundation.
No matter what is happening in your life today, or with those you love, He is constant. I love what we read in Romans 8 about the challenges of life: “Despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.”
Forty-six people are signed up for baptism this Sunday, ready to declare their allegiance to Jesus!
God is at work in great ways!! You’re welcome to join us for the celebration at Beulah Beach. There will be lots of activities from 2-6 PM this Sunday on the scenic shores of Lake Erie (in Vermilion). Worship and testimonies are at 6 PM, followed by baptisms in the lake (finished by 7:30). We’ve sold out on meals, but anyone is still welcome to come (bring your own food if you’d like to join us for the meal time, plus a lawn chair or blanket for the outdoor service). Learn more
This Sunday morning I’ll be giving a message on how to navigate through the inevitable transitions in life.
I will share a few that Mary and I are in the midst of, and we’ll see a great reminder in Scripture on what brings the blessing of God in such times.
In light of increasing COVID-19 numbers, we’re going to be providing a place for those who have health concerns by marking off a mask-mandatory section in the balcony at MH, and one quadrant at OF (with seating in every other row in those sections).
This last year has taught us how important our relationships are.
Small groups are a great way to make lasting connections while leading others into a deeper understanding of God’s Word, and facilitating some great conversation! If you are interested in learning more about leading a Small Group, check out the Training on August 21 or 28. There’s no obligation to lead. But the Lord may stir your heart and use you for greater impact than you could imagine! Learn more
Grace Arabic Church is doing an outreach event this week, and we’re trusting the Lord to touch many lives.
I’m so grateful for how the Lord is using them, as well as the Spanish, Deaf, and Vietnamese fellowships that meet at Grace Middleburg Heights each Sunday. If you’re friends with someone who speaks Arabic, feel free to pass along the invitation to the meetings tomorrow and Sunday!
