To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Stand in Love: Exploring Questions about Homosexuality, Identity and the Church Marie Farrell, Pastor Barta & Karen Jarr

It is sometimes difficult for Christians to know how to respond to homosexuality in today’s culture. Some believers argue their position, others remain silent to avoid offending, and still others may offer blanket approval. The result is often that those who need to hear the gospel in a way that addresses their areas of need are either pushed away or left out. Questions we will explore include:

  • Does God call homosexual behavior sin?
  • Is change possible?
  • How can I be salt and light yet be seen as loving?

Please join us in this class as we discover what the Bible says about homosexuality and how Christ would have us respond in love. Book -  $10.

The Fearless Christian Brendon Collins

You exist for a reason, a far greater reason than you might even realize. But even as a child of God things like fear, doubt, and anxiety keep you on the sidelines. The truth is that fear can enslave and rob you of the truth that you “…are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Over and over again, Scripture urges us: do not be afraid! Why do we stay enslaved? How can we be strong, courageous and become fearless? In this 12- week, highly applicable class you will learn:

  • To embrace that there is far greater purpose for your life than merely escaping hell.
  • To slow down and recognize the battle in your heart and mind.
  • How to starve fear and feed the truth that you are a child of God.
  • How to build mental and spiritual toughness through prayer and meditation.
  • How to become fearless.

Regardless of who you are, what you do, or where you are in life, you can be liberated from the bondage of fear. You can walk in those good works that God has prepared for you, be they professional, personal, athletic or otherwise.

The Most Excellent Way to _________ Pastor Scott Lessing & Chris Meekins

The most excellent way to lead has nothing to do with the number of followers you have on social media or how big your office is or how much money you get paid. True leadership is about living for something greater than yourself. An unexpected source of leadership training is from a Bible chapter that you’re more likely to hear at a wedding rather than in a conference room.  It highlights the fact that leadership is ultimately not about the leader. This upside-down model of leadership isn’t just biblical; it’s also the most effective and most rewarding way to lead. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a receptionist, a midlevel manager, or a new parent, this class will encourage you to see every opportunity in life as a chance to lead in the most excellent way. Keys to Recovery Jamie Norton

Recovery is the process of restoring what sin has taken away. Recovery means moving from a self-centered lifestyle to a Christ-centered lifestyle. You are not alone! The truth is, many people who deeply love God and desire to live for him struggle with addictions and compulsive behaviors. Whoever you are, wherever you have been, you are a person of infinite worth because God created you and because He loves you. Through recovery, you can become the unique human being that God designed you to be and live a Christ-honoring lifestyle that you tried to satisfy with your addictions and compulsions.

It doesn’t matter why you come, nor does it matter where you are in your recovery. Many of us have been where you are and know how difficult it is to take steps into recovery. We believe that the Christ-centered 12 steps, if applied as principles in your life, can and will improve the quality of your life. We have experienced men and women being set free from addictions to drugs, alcohol, lust, pornography, anger, codependency, compulsive food issues, and more.  It is our prayer that, by sharing our experience, strength and hope, You will experience the amazing healing power of Jesus Christ. We would be privileged to walk with you as you discover the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

This meeting begins with everyone together in a large group for prayer, readings, worship, devotion and a lesson, testimony or topic discussion. We then break into addiction specific small groups for women's substance, men's substance, eating disorders, codependency, and men's accountability.

Women’s Bible Study Marsha Durken Hallin

We hope you will consider joining us for a wonderful Bible study with other women of faith. We have a very diverse group, but the three main things we have in common is 1)a love for God, 2) a desire to deepen our walk with Him, and 3) the love of studying His word with other women who feel the same.  Come and join us any Saturday you can.  We meet all year long, except on holiday weekends, but there is no pressure to be there every week.

In January we will be starting a new 10-week study based on coming to know God as our Abba, our Father.  If you struggle with thinking of God as a loving Father, this study can really help break down some barriers.  If you already are comfortable with knowing God as Father, then the study will pull you into a deeper Father/daughter relationship.  We think this study will deepen our faith and trust and place us firmly on God's path for us as the year begins.

Bring your Bible and join us. Questions?  Call or email me 440-503-4107, or mdh265@gmail.comNote: We will not meet Dec 24 or 31.
