YearBeginningGiving

What a thrill to see God at work! We’re eager to see what he has in store in the months ahead.

Each one who lives generously is touching lives here at Grace, in our community, and in other nations. Every gift at Grace helps to reach more people.

The Apostle Paul teaches us about our giving in 1 Corinthians 16:1-2
“On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income...”

1. Paul encourages us to give regularly (“on the first day of every week”).
Studies reveal that people who plan their giving and give it at regular intervals end up being far more generous than those who give only occasionally, or impulsively. We become more generous if we set goals and then make deliberate plans to get there through planned giving (weekly, monthly, etc).

2. Paul encourages us to give in proportion to our income (“a sum … in keeping with your income”).
Mary and I have always lived by this motto: “If God increases our standard of living, he certainly wants to increase our standard of giving.”

3. The Biblical pattern is to give to your local church.
A large church looks well furnished, and it is tempting to think, “They don’t need my giving; I’ll give to other causes I am committed to.” The reality is that larger churches have larger costs and they need everyone’s giving. If everyone who came to Grace supported it financially and planned their giving, the difference would be significant.

I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about Grace’s future. Would you join me in giving generously to make an impact in our city and across the globe? Thanks so much!
