ThankYouNote 2017

Dear Grace Family,

As I reflect on a calendar year that is quickly coming to a close, there are so many reasons for gratitude. Here are just a few of the ways Jesus worked through the Grace family in 2017 (I could list many more!). Hundreds of you are investing your time, talents, and treasure to impact others and help folks become Jesus-followers who Love, Grow, and Serve.

Identifying with Jesus
• There were 174 individuals at Grace who publicly declared their faith through baptism this year!
So many great stories of how they came to Christ!

Healing and Restoration
Over 100 individuals benefitted from the Making Peace with Your Past Retreat in 2017. Our team of affiliated counselors has taken more than 3,800 appointments this year.

Growing in God's Word Together
This year as we studied God's Word together on Sundays, we went through “Wisdom for Life (Proverbs),” “Don’t Check Your Brain at the Door,” “Talking with God (Psalms),” “Soul Care”, and “Power Source (Acts).” If you missed a message or you want to rewatch a series, visit our sermon media page.

•  Our average weekly attendance at Grace is 3,700, plus there’s an average of 600 people a week (from 85 different countries!) who watch sermons on our website.

• We’ve seen new advances in our small group ministry since Lumar Vargas began her ministry role this summer. Over 50 groups will launch or re-launch in January, with many more new ones anticipated in the year ahead.

Multiplying Leaders
• We are so grateful for the 12 Interns and Residents who have served in ministry and learned alongside our staff this year, as well as the 50 individuals who have jumpstarted our Ministry Mentoring. We want to be a church that equips and multiplies leaders!

Serving Others

• About 25% of all financial contributions to Grace go to life-changing ministries beyond our local church family and community—including the support of international workers in many countries. On Thanksgiving, we dedicated our offering to hurricane relief in Puerto Rico, where we have 63 partner churches. $6,000 was given! A short-term team from Grace will likely visit in the coming months.

• 150+ Nursing Home Services were conducted in 10 local homes by a total of 40 volunteers.

The Hope Center, led by Grace member Eileen Wilson, ministers to 250 refugees and immigrants each week with about 20 Grace folks serving on a regular basis.

• We were able to help provide monthly hot breakfasts for Laura's Home Women's Crisis Center.

On behalf of the thousands of people whose lives are being touched: a huge “Thank you!”
You are making an eternal difference. Thank you for considering a year-end gift to help us finish the year in the black and prepare for another year of impact. These words spoken by the Apostle Paul can be spoken of those today who serve and give generously:

“others will praise God…for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.”
