Prayer Ministry Staff

Meet everyone who supports prayer ministry at Grace.

Jim Hicks

Jim Hicks

Pastor of Senior Adults & Prayer Coordinator | email | X114

Jim oversees the ever-growing 50+ group called Forever Young and coordinates the prayer ministry here at Grace. His greatest interest is seeing others awaken to the fact that God wants to use them, with their unique giftings and circumstances, regardless of their age.

Jim is a “quote guy” and two of his favorite quotes are ”Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." and "Prayer is the work of God’s people.” He taught Art at Valley Forge High School from 1974-2008 before retiring and receiving his pastoral license through the C&MA. As a retired teacher, he appreciates the many teaching opportunities at Grace.

For over 30 years, Jim has been using his artistic abilities to impact others with the gospel by doing inspirational chalk presentations. He and his wife, Lucille, love ministering together and having the kids and grandkids over whenever possible. In their free time they hit the road to enjoy hiking and retreats to Amish country and Hocking Hills. They were married in 1974, and they have four adult children and six grandchildren.

Kim joined the Grace team in April of 2017. She supports the Forever Young (50+) and Prayer ministries with Pastor Hicks, as well as the Focus Singles ministry and Sports ministry alongside Pastor Carrick.

Kim enjoys the creative aspect of her position as well as the nature of working in a Christian environment, connecting with people of all ages using their gifts to do God’s work.

Born in Akron, raised in Parma, Kim now calls Brunswick Hills home. Kim graduated from Valley Forge High School and studied at Cuyahoga Community College with a focus on Interior Design.

In her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, sewing, crafting, and anything that allows her to be creative, especially home decor.

Kim and her husband Jim met in high school and have shared many years of marriage and life together. They’ve raised two daughters who have families of their own, and today they have six amazing grandchildren – three of which are triplets!
