Our Affiliated Counselors

Grace Church has five affiliated counselors that have partnered with us in order to help you or your family member. Sometimes the best thing to do is to talk with someone who is solid in their faith, willing to pray with you or for you, and help to point you to Christ.

Jamie Norton

Jamie Norton


Jamie has been an affiliate with Grace Church for the past 13 years and oversees the counseling and recovery ministries. Jamie has a caring and compassionate heart for those who are hurting and a strong belief in the healing process. Jamie is passionate in her belief that Jesus comes in through our wounds and offers an opportunity for hope, peace, restoration, and growth.

After almost 35 years of working as a licensed counselor, trainer, program director and consultant in almost every public and private behavioral health setting at the local, state and national levels, Jamie began working in Christian settings through the NC State Baptist Convention in 1990.

In addition to her work with Grace Church, Jamie also offers Making Peace Retreats and workshops in several states.

Jamie received her Bachelors Degree from the University of South Carolina in 1963 and her Masters Degree from NC State University in 1972. 


Ryan Edlind

Rev. Ryan Edlind


Ryan is a Licensed Independent Social Work Supervisor in Ohio and was ordained by Calvary Baptist Church in Manhattan. He has also served as a leader in church ministry (teacher, elder, & pastor), and mental health organizations (clinical supervisor, professor, hospital psychiatry, agency & private practice settings). Ryan and his wife Jennifer were married in 1998 and are parents to Liam (2004), Tyler (2007) and Carter (2012). Ryan also loves to organize group trips to his hometown, New York City.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Graduate studies toward M.Div at Baptist Bible Seminary, a Masters degree in Christian Counseling from Cairn University (1997) and a Masters of Social Work from New York University (2003).

Ashley Zakikhani

Ashley Zakikhani


Ashley is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Ohio. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Baldwin Wallace University and felt called to a relationship-centered ministry. Ashley went on to receive a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary, which included formal theological training.

Ashley's clinical practice has included individual, family, and group counseling, with some specialized experience and training in drug and alcohol counseling, domestic violence and eating disorders. Other areas of competence include mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, process/behavioral addictions, and young adult issues.

Ashley is also a certified practitioner for the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI).
Ashley has been a member of Grace Church since 2001.


Mark Valley

Mark Valley


Mark specializes in serving adults, adolescents and couples who are facing Adjustment Issues, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Behavioral/Process Addictions, Marriage/Relationship Counseling, Spiritual Issues, and Trauma Situations.

Mark holds certifications, training and professional memberships related to Crisis Intervention, Basic Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Spiritual Implementation/Incorporation Training, Anxiety and Mood Disorders, Couples/Marital issues.

Mark has an MA in Clinical Health Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary



Michele Abraham

Michele Abraham


Michele has an undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University (1995) and a Master of Science in Social Administration from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences (MSASS) at Case Western Reserve University (1999).

Michele has done case management, counseling, and applied social research for older adults with memory and physical illness. She has also worked with underserved populations in health research through the Case Center for Reducing Health Disparities and worked in advocacy for the developmentally disabled population. She has most recently worked with children and adults, with a particular interests in teen-aged children and families, particularly those affected by the impact of developmental disabilities.

Michele has served in Making Peace ministry, children’s, women’s and high school ministries here at Grace and currently serves with the Connect Team as well. She is also currently enrolled in the LEAD program, a two-and-a -half year ministry development program of the CMA. She has been a Grace member since 2008.
